Our Story
SAFE began as a small group of five volunteers who saw a need and decided to act. What started as a grassroots effort quickly grew into a nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting real community needs with care, intention, and accountability.
Today, SAFE operates as a community-based resource hub connecting individuals and families to essential services, education, and support. We work to increase access, reduce barriers, and create welcoming spaces where people feel respected, informed, and empowered.
Guided by Stories, Agency, Futures, and Environments, our work centers lived experience as a source of insight and action. We believe community voice should shape solutions, and that strong systems of care are built through trust, collaboration, and long-term commitment.
Through programs such as It’s For Me Closet, Linkage to Care services, the Eagle Pass Public Health Coalition, the Community Transformation Alliance for Civic Engagement, and other partnerships, SAFE continues to strengthen community connection and expand opportunity.
As we grow, we remain grounded in the same love and dedication that started it all. SAFE is committed to building access, supporting well-being, and creating pathways that allow our community to thrive now and into the future.
